From This... **UPDATED**

From This...
And This...
To This...

Nothing like a nice post-wedding surprise to lift the spirits!  We had my wedding flowers preserved and framed and they just came in this week!  I love them!  For some reason, right before the wedding, I became convinced I needed to 'save' my bouquet forever.  I totally blame this on bride brain syndrome.  I typically don't like flowery items around the house, so in the past months I really had no idea why I did this!  Now that we have them, I'm so glad we do!  They look awesome in the frame and look fantastic hanging in the house!  We also had a few Christmas ornaments made from the bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets!  I love love love Christmas ornaments that represent a memory or event!  We are giving one to my mom for Mother's Day and she will love it... just like I do!

*** UPDATE***

I got a few emails about the ornaments, the frame, etc.    The frame is a bubble frame.  When you are looking right at it, you can't tell at all.  They had shadow box frames, but I liked the bubble because you could see the flowers no matter where you were viewing them from.  We could only put it on certain walls if we went with the shadow box.  It's a smaller version of my bouquet and I love it.  They matting and materials inside the frame somehow make it so they will stay looking like that indefinitely.  This is how they did it:

They photograph the flowers once they arrive.  Then the entire bouquet is disassembled.  They re-hydrate each bloom in a floral cooler.  Then the preserving begins... they first go to a sand-drying room, then some blooms are bleached to stay white, others are color treated to help them retain their color.  They then freeze-dry them.  No clue how they do it.  Once  the preservation process is complete (we are talking 4- 5 months here!), they bring all the blooms back together and re-create the bouquet.  They make them into about anything... jewelry, rosaries, pictures, ornaments, etc.  Then they come back to the bride, for a wonderful surprise!  It is a big process!

Here are some pics I took with my phone... not the greatest, but you can get the idea!

I love it! Can't wait to see the ornaments! How thick is the frame? Is it normal sized? It just looks 3-d.

This is beautiful! I had my flowers preserved, too, but then I moved away and the company went out of business. I have no idea where those flowers are today... kind of sad, especially when I see how awesome yours look! Great idea with the bubble frame!
