It's my first quick takes! I love reading them and while mine probably won't be nearly as entertaining and interesting as others, I thought it would give it a go! I have a zillion ideas swirling around in my head at a given time... hardly any make it to a blog post (unless it involves a wedding picture!) Ha! I thought this would be a good way to get some things down. Plus, I'm always one to jump on a good band wagon!

My #1 summer obsession?? Bi.g Bro.ther! I admit it... I LOVE to watch it. I'm not the biggest reality TV fan, but I cannot not keep my eyes off this show! I have watched it for the last several years and love it! It really takes some commitment to watch this show... it's on THREE times a week! Three! It's crazy! But I am totally willing to make that commitment! I can do it! Some friends and I often have 'big broth.er' parties when it gets down to the very end... it's very fun! I DO NOT, however, subscribe to the live feed that is available! I only did that one year... several years ago. I must say, it did come in very handy! And I wonder why I was single so long... Hmmmm....

My other obsession that extends into all four seasons?? My i.phone. Yep, I admit it. I'm an i.phone-aholic. I need help and I know it. My phone is with my All.The.Time. I'm working on it... slowing, but working on it. I first got one two years ago and we were instantly attached at the hip. I just got a new one (yay) and I love it! It was the official... "You don't ovulate, your thyroid is totally busted, I have diabetes, we had frozen pipes, your tubes are blocked, we had a water leak and need all new floors, etc., etc, phone" gift from my husband. He pre-ordered it and it arrive promptly on launch day! Yes, this makes me smile more than you know! It will take the place of my next few Christmas, anniversary and birthday presents. While I do admit that I have a little too much love for my phone, it is so handy... how else would I email Ann, Leila, Beth and Sew during the day?? :)

Speaking of phones... I HATE it when people text and drive. It scares me silly! I use to do this. I do NOT anymore. It might drive me crazy, but I put the phone down. I had to honk at a car last week that was on its way to hit me. I could see the driver looking down while we were coming to a stop. I honked, they looked up and barely missed me! I've been in 6 car accidents (NONE were my fault!) and I do not want to be in any more! Statistics show that nearly 500,000 people are injured and 6,000 are killed every year because drivers are so distracted, either by talking, texting or e-mailing behind the wheel! No text message or email is worth that.

I've got a great blog for everyone to check out! My 'in real life' friend Megan has started a new blog,
Heart of St. Monica! It's going to be a great blog! Megan is unapologetically Catholic and knows how to defend her faith! She has done so many times on the blogs already! Megan has the cutest family... a great hubby Bill and two adorable little girls! She has a
blog about her girls too! It's been great getting to know Megan better through the blogs. It's funny... because I haven't seen Megan since she discovered blogging... but yet, I feel like we've become such better friends! One more reason I love this blogging community!

Wine. I walked in the door tonight and my wonderful DH handed me a glass of wine. I love him and the wine. He had prepared the most delicious and wonderfully healthy meal too! He is home for the summer and has been doing all the cooking and grocery shopping! I LOVE IT! He's been grilling up a storm and he is great! It's so nice to come home with all the little stuff done... so we can spend the rest of the evening just being with each other! It makes such a difference!

This has been on of the loooogest weeks! I only had to work 3 days and yet it seemed to drag on and on and on! We went on a little mini-vacation out in nature (blog post coming soon!) and returned home Tuesday night. I don't think I've recovered yet! I have managed to get so much more sleep than normal this week in an effort to recover from the nature filled getaway. I usually get about 5 hours a night if I'm really lucky. This week I've gotten at least 8 hours and it has made such a difference! Wow! I think this is almost how I'm suppose to feel. I'm still tired (darn thyroid!), but it so much better!! Now, I'm so excited it's the weekend I can hardly stand it! Woo Hoo! Have a great weekend everyone!

Haha! I'm super addicted to my iPhone too! It's pretty sad. Dh was talking about possibly changing carriers and I had to put my foot down about that. :) I'm not giving us the phone!
ohh, BIG BROTHER! I watched it all the time when I was single and back then - I was actually upset that I couldn't afford to pay for the live feed! Yeah, ya think I would have been upset about a lot more if I could not afford a 10 fee - but that was long ago! :)
I don't watch it anymore, but was thinking of jumping back in this summer..........hmmmmmm
And, I LOVE LOVE Heart of St. Monica already! I get so excited about new Catholic lady blogs - I'm not a nut, I just love Catholic women!
I.love.big.brother. Me and my DH talk about it all the time! We have watched it for the past several years too! I wish I would have seen the first episodes! I want them on DVD. I'm actually sad when it ends and I wait impatiently for it all year!!!!
I can't wait for it to start getting good but it has already started, I think!!! hahahaha
You did put the iphone away for a bit when you were on the nature vacation. That was a BIG step, my friend. And while I was immensely proud of you and your concern for forest fires, I would’ve liked a little warning. No emails from Jenny makes Ann a very worried girl. :)
I have stayed away from Big Brother due to the time commitment. Don’t tempt me!
Doug is such a good guy! I loved the first 3 years when DH was always home before me and would cook. When we both started working, we had a rule of whoever got home first would start dinner. One Friday, I really did not want to cook. I mean really. I would have rather poked a white hot stick in my eye, but I noticed his truck wasn’t in the driveway. So I drove around the neighborhood over and over again until he came home. I got totally busted ;-)
Hmm I've never gotten on the Bi.g B.ro.ther train, I just dont' get it. Oh well.
I really enjoyed your first quick takes...
Am I the only one that dosent' talk to or email other bloggers all day?
I want an iphone soooooo badly! I feel like I am totally outta the loop, all my friends have them, but I would have to pay out of my contract with cell south tho I am about to do it b/c I can bundle internet, tv, and phone for cheaper than I am paying now, just a matter of getting outta contract and buying the darn phone.
don't watch big brother but am obsessed with jersey real housewives and the bachelorette!! Can't get enough of those reality shows lol!
So funny Ann about driving around to avoid cooking dinner. ha! I love to cook but would love if DH did some tho he does grill a good bit. The only time he cooks is if I am sick or during my sad times after the m/c. And that consists of frozen pizza or grilled cheese. GOd love him!
Love #6!! You have a sweetheart of a DH! Maybe mine will meet me at the door with a glass of wine...wait a minute...I only work until 1pm! That's too early for wine, right? LOL! *rolls eyes*
Super jealous of number 6! The hubby hates wine. I feel our marriage is lacking some serious class.
Lol I have a friend who regularly tells me her iPhone changed her life. I can't wait to get one as soon as it comes to Verizon!! (AT&T is crappy in Nebraska).
And good for you not texting and driving!! It is SERIOUSLY dangerous and many states are making it illegal. I hate it when people do it too.
...and I also love wine. It was my companion on the lonely nights when DH was gone. Thankfully he's back!!
And Kaitlin, I think you are classy!! My hubs will drink wine but he could care less what kind...the cheaper the better. He calls me a wine snob because I can tell the difference between pinot noir and merlot. :-)
Thanks for the shout out, Jenny! I'm excited to keep writing! The conference this weekend is giving me some great ideas!
I also hate texting and driving, but I do text at red lights... that's okay right? :)
and the wine thing is amazing! Doug is a genius! :) I took a wine class at college, and it was my favorite class all four years! I'm not sure what that says about me... :)
Hey all -
I am pretty lucky to have Doug! He loves his wine and knows that I do too! But I don't know what wines go with what a such. I just know what I like! I need to take that class Megan! We went to a winery this past weekend and filled up a case full of our favorites. I don't think 1pm is too early at all... it's the afternoon!! :) And I'm loving all his cooking... even on the weekends! :) Ann... too funny about you driving around the block and getting busted!! Ha!!
Red light texting... I admit... I still do this a little bit! I'm trying to avoid it at all when I'm in a car... but it's like detoxing... a little bit at a time. Darn iPhone... so addicting! But I love it... just like Big Brother!!! :)
And Ann... I'll totally give you the heads up next time Doug and I go out of town next time! Or at least we won't go out in nature... so I can take the phone with me!
Happy Sunday everyone!
Great quick takes! I really want an i phone, but i know i will be too addicted to it! Never got into the Big Brother.. I have to many other shows going on! :)
That is great the DH is cooking for you! I love that, E can't cook, but since he has been out of work, he does almost all the grocery shopping for me. the little things are the best! :)
